Hankook Tire Wins Prestigious Good Design Award 2016

September 30, 2016 (Seoul, Korea) - Hankook Tire today announced that its new product, Winter i*cept iZ2 A won the prestigious Good Design Award, one of the four internationally recognized professional design awards including the iF Design Award, Red Dot, and IDEA. The Winter i*cept iZ2 A was recognized as 'Winner' at the Good Design Award Japan 2016 in the category of Transportation Equipment and Facilities.
Award winning Winter i*cept iZ2 A, recently released in September 2016, is highly acclaimed for its innovative design that provides optimal performance and safe driving on various road surfaces in winter. Hankook Tire's differentiated design that comes from global top tier technology has improved winter driving experience with specialized pattern designs such as sharp block edges and a spiral 3D structure of tread block. Moreover, it is also commended for outstanding design that enables drivers to maintain balance both snowy and wet road conditions with coexistence of two design types, symmetric and asymmetric.
It is the third time during 2016 that Hankook Tire has been recognized by major international design awards for its innovative product design, following iF Design Award in February, Red Dot in March and July. The continuous recognition by world’s renowned design awards highlights Hankook Tire’s global top tier technology leadership as well as design innovation.
The Good Design Award has been a sole comprehensive design evaluation and commendation system in Japan since it was established in 1957. Celebrating its 58th season, the award acknowledges the best designs from leading companies around the world. “G Mark”, the symbol of the award has been recognized widely as a mark representing good design. Core criteria for evaluation includes innovativeness and practicality.
