Hankook Tire Becomes Official Partner of KHL
On Friday, premium tyre maker Hankook signed a sponsorship agreement with Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) in Ufa. The cooperation will help to strengthen its position significantly in Russia and Northern and Eastern Europe.
Ufa, Russia, 23 January 2017 – Premium tyre maker Hankook will be partner of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) for the forthcoming three years. Both parties officially signed the partnership agreement on Friday in Ufa, Russian Federation, during an official event held by the KHL. The initial three-year agreement takes effect from January 2017 and will include a range of additional marketing rights including board and TV advertising.
The agreement was reached for an initial duration of three seasons with the possibility of an extension The large scale partnership enables Hankook to strengthen its engagement and reach out to consumers around the world, especially in the Russian Federation and the other seven countries that the KHL clubs represent – Belarus, Croatia, Finland, Kazakhstan, Latvia, People’s Republic of China and Slovakia.
The contract combines the common values of Hankook and KHL. Both parties are aiming to development further: KHL – for the benefit of the sport and ice hockey fans, and Hankook – for satisfaction of motorists’ needs all over the world.

For Hankook, not only increasing audience but also having a premium image is an important brand mission and ice hockey sports in Russia have the target audience to do so. Hankook is already engaged as an official/premium partner and sponsor in various major international sports and motorsports activities. Last year it became official partner of Real Madrid. The Hankook sponsorship portfolio also includes UEFA Europa League, BV Borussia Dortmund (German 1st league football club), Northampton Saints Rugby Club (English Premiership), Lyon Olympique Universitaire Équipe Pro (French Rugby league), DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, Prmium racing car series with Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz) and, FIA Formula 3 European Championchip among others.
