01. The Japanese Label

Japan has applied its own independent labeling system since January 2010 and the labeling process currently applies only to PCR tires.

The qualities listed in the label system include rolling resistance, which affects fuel efficiency, and wet grip, which is directly related to safety on wet roads. The standard for a low-fuel cost tire in the Japanese labeling system is at least grade A for R.R and grade D for wet grip.

02. R.R

R.R
Class Rolling resistance: RRC (N/kN)
AAA RRC ≤ 6.5
AA 6.6 ≤ RRC ≤ 7.7
A 7.8 ≤ RRC ≤ 9.0
B 9.1 ≤ RRC ≤ 10.5
C 10.6 ≤ RRC ≤ 12.0

03. Wet Grip

Wet Grip
Class Wet Grip: G (%)
A 155 ≤ G
B 140 ≤ G ≤ 154
C 125 ≤ G ≤ 139
