Job Title - Import Associate

Report to - Import Manger
II. Job Purpose
The Import Associate will be accountable for monitoring inbound containers and ensure that proper security entries are transmitted. The associate will also be responsible that delivery schedules are met, materials are delivered, empty containers and chassis are returned in a timely manner. The individual hired for this position must have knowledge and experience with US Customs and Border Protection regulations and steamship equipment use policies.
III. Duties and Responsibilities
-Ensures ISF entries are filed for all bills of lading, no later 24 hours prior to vessel departure from the last foreign port.
-Tracking and tracing of bills of lading and containers via carrier’s website or phone.
-Ensures container delivery, monitors container levels at destination, warns of possible demurrage charges and ensures container return.
IV. Level of Accountabilities
-Individual contributor, reports to Import Manager
-Member of SCM logistics team, works cross-functionally with Original Equipment and Redistribution Equipment business segments.
V. Core Competencies
-Computer skills required, including MS-Office Suite and Excel and Word
-Ability to demonstrate good oral and written communication skills
-ERP System(SAP) knowledge a plus.
-Must have the ability to prioritize with well-developed multi-tasking skills
-Excels in a team environment
-Ability to work in fast paced environment and is well organized
-Knowledge of ocean, air imports and exports a plus.
-High School or Associates Level education
-Detailed knowledge of U.S. Customs rules including classification, valuation, compliance monitoring and supply chain security developments
-Minimum 2 years of experience customs entry processes, import container management
